Founder’s Journey Into Healthcare

A Commitment to Service, Compassion, and Whole-Person Care

For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to pursue a life dedicated to serving others. As a child, I often imagined myself working in either religious service or healthcare. Although these paths may appear different, I saw them as sharing a common purpose: compassion, service, and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

As I grew older, I knew healthcare was where I belonged. What took longer to discover was how I wanted to contribute.

I initially explored a career in medicine while also navigating personal challenges that encouraged me to reflect on my emotional well-being, sense of purpose, and aspirations for the future. During that period of exploration, I discovered nursing and became drawn to its philosophy of whole-person care.

What resonated with me most was nursing’s recognition that patients are more than their medical conditions. Every person has a unique history, values, preferences, and circumstances that deserve consideration. Healthcare, I realized, should preserve dignity, respect autonomy, and encourage individuals to participate actively in decisions affecting their lives.

That realization gave me a renewed sense of direction. In 2015, I began my healthcare career by becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant.

From Nursing Assistant to Nurse Practitioner

Over the following years, I continued working while pursuing my education, gradually building the knowledge, skills, and clinical experience needed to become the provider I envisioned.

My nursing experience has included nursing homes, group homes, sub-acute care, medical-surgical units, inpatient psychiatric settings, and other healthcare environments. These experiences allowed me to care for people across different stages of life, with varying health conditions, resources, and support systems.

They also taught me that good healthcare requires more than identifying a problem and recommending treatment. It requires understanding how that problem affects someone’s daily life, relationships, responsibilities, emotional well-being, and ability to pursue meaningful goals.

During my undergraduate nursing education, my own experiences with personal growth, self-esteem, and physical well-being strengthened my interest in public health, prevention, and patient education.

I became increasingly aware that people may want to improve their health but encounter barriers involving access, knowledge, finances, competing responsibilities, or treatment recommendations that do not realistically fit their circumstances.

These experiences reinforced a belief that continues to guide my practice: healthcare should meet people where they are while helping them move toward where they want to be.

Why I Chose Both Family and Psychiatric-Mental Health Care

Throughout my career, I observed how closely physical and mental health influence one another.

Physical conditions can affect mood, confidence, relationships, and daily functioning. Likewise, emotional distress and mental health conditions can influence sleep, motivation, physical symptoms, and the ability to manage other health concerns.

I wanted to develop a deeper understanding of both.

This led me to pursue a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with dual preparation as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

My goal was to build a clinical foundation that would allow me to recognize the complex relationship between physical and mental health while approaching patients as whole individuals.

Through my clinical education and professional experiences, I have worked with people from under-served communities as well as individuals with greater access to healthcare resources. I have learned that barriers to health can affect anyone, although those barriers differ significantly between individuals.

These lessons have shaped how I approach clinical decision-making, treatment planning, and patient education.

The Purpose Behind Nora Wellness & Management

I founded Nora Wellness & Management to create a practice grounded in the values that first drew me to nursing: compassion, dignity, education, autonomy, and individualized care.

I believe patients deserve to understand their conditions, explore appropriate treatment options, ask questions, and participate meaningfully in decisions about their care.

I also believe treatment should be realistic. A recommendation may be clinically appropriate, but it must also account for a person’s circumstances, preferences, available resources, and ability to participate.

Medication can be an important part of treatment when clinically indicated. For some individuals, it may provide the support needed to regain stability and begin making meaningful progress. However, I believe medication decisions should be made thoughtfully, with education, consideration of alternatives, and shared decision-making.

I recognize that healthcare does not offer a guaranteed solution to every challenge. Progress may take time, require adjustments, or involve collaboration with other professionals.

My role is not to promise that I can fix every problem or determine what your life should look like.

My commitment is to listen, provide thoughtful and evidence-informed clinical guidance, respect your decisions, and work collaboratively with you toward goals that are meaningful and achievable within your circumstances.

You are more than a diagnosis, a symptom, or a medical history. Your experiences, values, strengths, and aspirations matter.

That belief is at the heart of Nora Wellness & Management.

Clarity. Confidence. Control.

Feel empowered, not overwhelmed. Learn your body. Live with purpose.

Our Philosophy of Care

Your Health. Your Voice. Your Goals.

At Nora Wellness & Management, PLLC, we believe meaningful healthcare begins with understanding the person behind the symptoms.

Every individual brings unique experiences, values, challenges, and goals to their healthcare journey. We recognize that physical health, mental well-being, personal circumstances, and daily functioning are interconnected, and that effective care should reflect those relationships.

Our approach is grounded in compassion, clinical evidence, patient education, and shared decision-making.

We believe that:

  • Your voice matters. You deserve to understand your health and participate actively in decisions about your care.
  • Care should be individualized. Treatment recommendations should consider your clinical needs, personal preferences, circumstances, and realistic capabilities.
  • Education supports empowerment. Understanding your condition and available options can help you make informed, confident decisions.
  • Mental and physical health are connected. Recognizing their relationship supports a more comprehensive understanding of well-being.
  • Treatment is a collaborative process. Medication, therapeutic interventions, lifestyle changes, and other appropriate resources may each play a role depending on your needs.
  • Progress is personal. Meaningful improvement is not defined by perfection, but by achievable changes that support your quality of life.

We cannot promise immediate answers or guaranteed outcomes. What we can offer is thoughtful clinical guidance, transparency, respect, and a commitment to working collaboratively within the scope of our services.

Our goal is to help you pursue a healthier, more meaningful life on terms that respect who you are and what matters to you.

Clarity. Confidence. Control.
